The global COVID-19 pandemic remains severe, and international travel carries a high risk of cross-infection. The best way to protect yourself is to avoid non-essential, non-urgent travel. If you must travel to China, carefully assess the pandemic risks and travel costs, and familiarize yourself with the pre-flight nucleic acid and serum antibody IgM testing requirements. To minimize the risk of cross-infection during travel, the Chinese Embassy in Germany reminds all residents in Germany to take direct flights to China.
From March 2, 2021 (including that day), the Chinese Embassy in Germany will adjust the requirements for issuing green health codes and green QR codes (hereinafter referred to as "green codes") for Chinese and foreign passengers traveling to China as follows:
1. Nucleic Acid Test Requirements:
- The test method must be PCR; TMA is not accepted.
- Sample collection must be a throat swab (Rachenabstrich) or nasopharyngeal swab (Nasenabstrich).
2. Antibody Test Requirements:
- Blood sample must be taken via venous blood.
- The test report must clearly indicate COVID-19 IgM antibodies, venous blood (venöses Blut), and the test method. Both the nucleic acid and antibody test reports must include the patient's name, doctor or test center name and address, test item, sampling time, sampling method, and test method.
3. Documents to Upload:
- Your passport data page.
- Flight itinerary.
- Valid Chinese visa or foreign residence permit (for foreign nationals).
- German visa/residence permit/address registration certificate (for Chinese citizens and non-German foreign nationals).
- Dual negative test reports issued within two days before the departure of your direct flight from Germany to China.
- If vaccinated, upload your vaccination certificate (must include name, gender, date of birth, vaccine brand, first and second dose dates, injection location, doctor or medical institution stamp, and contact information).
