Berlin’s flower scene ranges from sprawling weekly markets to high-concept florists whose work appears on magazine covers. Here is where to find the best flowers in the city.
Boxhagener Platz Market (Saturday)
The Saturday market at Boxhagener Platz in Friedrichshain is the most beloved weekly market for young Berliners — flowers at this market tend to be seasonal, reasonably priced, and available from direct growers. Arrive between 9–11am for the best selection. The broader market has good produce, street food, and vintage items alongside the flowers.
Winterfeldtplatz Market (Wednesday and Saturday)
The Winterfeldtplatz market in Schöneberg is one of Berlin’s oldest and most established — the flower stalls are large and well-stocked with garden flowers year-round. A more middle-class, settled neighbourhood market than Boxhagener, with good quality and a slightly higher price point.
High-End Florists in Mitte and Prenzlauer Berg
Several florists in central Berlin work in the contemporary minimalist style — large single stems, architectural arrangements with grasses and branches alongside flowers, emphasis on form over volume. These shops attract design-conscious buyers and are often used by interior stylists, magazines, and hotel lobbies. Arrangements start around €35 and go well above €100 for more elaborate work.
Turkish Markets
The Turkish market at Maybachufer in Neukölln (Tuesday and Friday) is primarily a food market, but several stalls sell excellent flowers at very low prices — tulips, roses, and seasonal varieties at €3–8 per bunch. These are among the cheapest quality flowers in the city.
Buying in Bulk
The Berlin Großmarkt (wholesale flower market) opens at 4am on weekdays and is accessible to professional buyers and serious amateurs. Prices are substantially below retail. Not practical for a single bunch but worth knowing if you’re planning an event.
