Berlin’s Best Chinese Restaurants in 2025: An Honest Guide

Berlin has a growing and improving Chinese restaurant scene, ranging from quick dan dan noodle spots to multi-regional sit-down restaurants. Here is what is actually worth your time and money in 2025.

Szechuan and Regional Chinese

The wave of cloud-Guizhou and Yunnan-style restaurants that opened in Berlin around 2024–2025 brought genuinely spicy, aromatic dishes to the city. Look for places in Mitte, Prenzlauer Berg, and around Alexanderplatz serving malatang, hot dry noodles (re gan mian), and Sichuan-style cold noodles. These are small, cash-preferred spots — arrive early to avoid the queue.

Dim Sum

Berlin’s dim sum scene is limited but improving. A handful of Cantonese restaurants near Wittenbergplatz and in Schöneberg serve weekend dim sum (often from 11am to 2pm, no reservations). Come hungry and expect to share tables at the busier spots.

For Late-Night Noodles

A few Chinese noodle shops in the Ku’damm corridor and around Potsdamer Platz stay open until midnight or later on weekends. These cater to the post-club crowd and deliver reliable bowls of hand-pulled noodles (la mian) and broth without much fanfare.

Insider Tip

Follow Chinese student groups on Facebook (search “柏林 华人”) and Telegram for real-time tips on new openings and pop-ups. The most interesting Chinese food in Berlin often arrives as a pop-up before finding a permanent location.
